SunGard Announces New Market Data Workstation for the Institutional Market

MT LAUREL, NJ, Mar 10, 2003— SunGard Market Data Services, an operating group of SunGard (NYSE: SDS), and Wall Street Source Inc., a leader in financial information distribution, announced today a new joint offering aimed at the institutional market. SunGard Institutional Pro, the new workstation for both buy-side and sell-side market professionals, integrates Wall Street Source's 1 Stop Pro with SunGard’s proven quote applications and delivery infrastructure, providing a complete, integrated desktop for real-time market information, charting, news, and securities reference data.

"This new workstation brings together all the pieces necessary to put us in a solid competitive position in the institutional market," commented Rick Snape, president of SunGard Market Data Services. "As the industry continues to consolidate, the market is clearly in need of a strong, cost-effective alternative to what's out there today. By combining Wall Street Source's extensive data set with our quote and delivery systems, we're able to meet the needs of institutional professionals seamlessly and cost-effectively."

SunGard Institutional Pro is a Windows-based workstation that brings together SunGard's dynamic quote applications, market monitors, historical data and charting tools with 1 Stop Pro's premium news, fundamental data, research reports, estimates, SEC filings, and market events. Ideal for institutional traders, money managers and analysts, SunGard Institutional Pro offers a broad range of content bundled into a single desktop application. A thin-client, Web-based version is also available, either independently or as an extension of the Windows-based desktop application.

"With the addition of SunGard’s quote applications, we’re truly in a position to provide a 'one stop' source of information to our clientele," added John Albert, chairman and chief executive officer of Wall Street Source. "SunGard's proven technology, solid reputation and strength in the financial services sector gives us the perfect platform on which to distribute our combined services."

SunGard's exchange connectivity and market data delivery infrastructure stems from the acquisition of the PowerPartner application and its associated Mt. Laurel, NJ data center from the bankruptcy sale of Bridge Information Systems in June, 2001. Over the past two years, SunGard Market Data Services has invested heavily in upgrading and enhancing its infrastructure and facilities, including the establishment of a redundant ticker plant, a real-time data feed, connectivity with the Internet, and integration with other SunGard databases and services. Its Web-based services are built from proven Tradeline and BrokerWare technologies.

1 Stop Pro, launched in October 2002, integrates more than 100 sources of financial news, information and data, including Dow Jones News Service, Market Guide, Edgar, WSS Institutional Holdings, First Call Earnings Estimates, Comtex News, the Wall Street Journal, Barron's, First Call Events, and Insider Transactions. 1 Stop Pro enables users to organize and find information according to their specific business needs, allowing analysts, money managers and traders to customize the 1StopPro interface to fit their daily routines and provide analysis of relevant information about their holdings and client portfolios.
